- Discovered Ryan Trahan's new 0.1 Penny Challenge (across America). Great series. The culmination of what I would have loved to do as a YouTuber.
- Had a good conversation with my coworker. It was a hard-headed discussion where we both had different views on something, but managed to find common ground.
- Traveled to Sherbrooke for the championship. I'm excited for it.
Thought of the day: I've been happy lately
Today, I wanted to take the time to acknowledge that I've been generally feeling happy about my life.
I know that this won't last forever, which is precisely why it's important for me to take a moment and appreciate it.
For the past 3-4 years of my life, I always had ups and downs where the main focal point of the downs was around the subject of "what to do with my life".
I'm not going to pretend and say that "I've finally found it" because I've said this exact phrase so many times in the past only to change my mind a few weeks later.
What I will say though is that I've been feeling a lot calmer. Less anxious about the future.
Even when I see cool things, I don't imagine myself doing them. I can appreciate my excitement for what it is, an outside perspective of a finished product, but that's it.
I used to watch things on Youtube and tell myself "man, I wish I would be doing that", but not anymore.
It's not that I've stopped dreaming. It's that I am more capable of discerning between what I'm actually interesting about, what I'd be willing to suffer for (passion comes from patior meaning "to suffer") vs what I simply find entertaining, what amuses me.
With this increase in awareness, I feel like I am more able to focus on what's important and I know that when I focus on something, I can do anything I want.
More focus, more certainty. Less stress, more happiness.
